eisfair2 BETA 6 released

The new beta version of eisfair2 is available.

you can download a 45MB ISO image with the following modifications:

• Kernel 2.6.23.1 with new scheduler
• Rewritten hardware detection for SCSI, SATA and IDE
• Installation possible from SCSI, SATA, IDE and USB drives
• Initrd contains a small rescue system with german keyboard layout
• /etc/config.d/ moved back to the root partition because of problems with user packages
• Changed from fcron to cron

Known Bugs:

• Login is signed over by boot messages
• During installation into VMware 5.5 the SCSI hard disk can't be found. This problem does not occour on VMware 6)

Please tell us your experience with the hardware detection especially with SATA, SCSI and RAID hardware. To see as much as possible information the whole output of kernel messages through the installation is activated. In particular during the detection of RAID controllers a delay can happen. Because of this it is possible to start the hard disk detection again. The second terminal is usable for debuging, thanks BusyBox.
