Download the VMware Player.

VMeisfair is a virtual eisfair server, which can be used with the VMware player or VMware 5.5.1.

• proper installation of the VMware player
• at least 150MB free space at your hard disk
• Attention: The virtual hard disk of VMware is dynamic which leads to a growing "VMeisfair.vmdk" file. This file can grow to a size up to 1GB.

• Extract archive
• Load the file "VMeisfair.vmx" with the VMware player and run VMeisfair
• During the first boot you have to setup the passwords for "root", "eis", "reboot" and "halt"

• 128MB RAM
• 1GB HDD (IDE)
• 1 CDROM (IDE)
• 2 seriall and 1 parallel port
• 1 Floppydisk drive
• AMD Athlon
• PCnet network card (AMD PCI PCnet32) with BootROM

The image was created with VMware 4.5.2 and guest operating system was "Other Linux 2.4er Kernel". On the first run of the image the script "/usr/local/bin/setpasswd.sh" is executed to set up the passwords for "root", "eis", "reboot" and "halt". After successful finish of this script the file "/var/run/setpasswd" will be created. As long as this file exists, no new questionaire for setting up new passwords will be done during boot.
